The exhibition by Hashim Sarkis, Dean of the MIT School of Architecture and Planning, was presented at the Creative Campus of Universidad Andrés Bello. Our studio was entrusted with the execution and management of this project developed by Hashim Sarkis Studios (HSS).
The HSS team played a key role in creating the furniture, which reflects the emotional relationship between the Yük and the Dãr, spatial concepts deeply rooted in Lebanese culture and Hashim Sarkis’s childhood. The Yük is an open built-in wardrobe used to store mattresses, stools, clothing, and household items. The Dãr is the living space that complements the Yük, working together to structure everyday dynamics. In the context of the Creative Campus, these concepts were reinterpreted to allow students to appropriate and use the space, connecting cultural tradition with a contemporary academic environment.

Keeping in mind that this is a College Campus, these concepts were reinterpreted to allow students to own and use the space comfortably, connecting cultural tradition and a contemporary academic environment.
